A Step in Reviving the Cadet Program

Belong, Believe, Become.

This was the theme of the 2007 Workshop on Reviving the GSP Cadet Program held last July 15, 2007 at the GSP NHQ Imay Pecson Hall, Manila. Eight cadets and two senior girl scouts participated in the said workshop.

Facilitated by Program Committee Members Dr. Febe Marl Gamio-Paat and Katheri Ann Charcos and also by Program Division OIC Ginnie Oribiana, the workshop was intended to promote a strong sense of sisterhood among participants. It also aimed to re-orient and/or confirm to the girls the strength of the Girl Scout Program, to solicit initial and new ideas for the revived GSP Cadet Program and to create a core group of Cadet Scout Leaders who will spearhead the revival of the GSP Cadet Program.

GSP President Teresita Choa also visited the girls in one of the sessions to know their concerns regarding the revival of the Cadet Program. During the sessions, the participants had the chance to voice-out their opinions and suggestions. They also made their own action plans for the implementation of the GSP program in their respective schools.

At the end of the day, the participants felt that they BELONG to the Girl Scouts, BELIEVED, that they can actually make things happen and BECAME girl scouts who are confident that they can be what they really want to be.
